INSTITUTIONAL PROJECTS
Joslin Construction has installed underground utilities for many local school districts and medical centers.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center and Athletic Facility, Cypress, Texas
Opened in 2006, the Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center was approved as part of the historic $470.5 million bond referendum in Cy-Fair ISD.

The new center was constructed in response to the district's critical need for a large educational facility capable of hosting programs and events, such as graduations, professional development, academic competitions and other community-related interests.

The 248,498-square-foot Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center includes a multipurpose arena with a seating capacity of 9,500, a professional library, a 400-seat performing arts auditorium, locker rooms, a banquet hall/conference center and facilities for staff development.

Joslin Construction installed over 50,000 linear feet of site utilities for this project, working with Spaw Glass.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Calhoun County ISD, Jackson-Roosevelt Elementary School, Port Lavaca, Texas
Working at an existing school, this project required collaboration among all trades to maintain the operation of the existing school, while expanding the campus to better serve the students in Calhoun County ISD.

Joslin Construction installed over 12,000 linear feet of site utilities for this project under a subcontract with Prime Contractors.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Conroe ISD, Sam Houston Elementary School, Conroe, Texas
Constructed under a former junior high football field, this underground detention system is one of the largest of its kind in the state of Texas. Encompassing over an acre in size and over 15' deep, this 102" detention system will be used as storm water retention for the new Sam Houston Elementary and existing Travis Intermediate School. This excavation is under a former football field that will be a playground when construction is complete.

It is an upcoming technology that allows owners/developers to have more land available for development instead of using it for detention. Working for Marshall Construction, Joslin Construction installed over 4,400 linear feet of 102" diameter CMP (corrugated meal pipe) for this project supplied by Contech Construction Products.
